Terms of Service
Draft prepared 16 October 2026
These terms cover your use of Shoremingle. [To confirm: who the agreement is with (the operating entity) and when it takes effect]
Who can use Shoremingle
- You must be 16 or older.
- You need an account with a working email address, which you confirm.
- Shoremingle is free and in early access: features may change, and some may be added or removed as it grows.
Your account
- Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for activity on your account.
- You can change your details or delete your account at any time.
How you behave
Follow the Community Guidelines everywhere on Shoremingle, and the rules of each Island you visit.
What you post
- You are responsible for what you post: discussions, replies, Island Chat, private messages, your Islander and your profile.
- If you delete your account, what you posted stays where it is, shown as from a "Deleted account". You can remove your own discussion posts and private messages before then.
- [To confirm: ownership of what members post, and the permission Shoremingle needs to show it to others]
Islands you create
- Each member can own a limited number of Islands (currently three).
- As an owner you set your Island's rules when you create it, and can later edit its name, tagline and description, or delete it. Your Island must follow the Community Guidelines.
Moderation
Island owners and moderators can hide posts, lock discussions, remove Island Chat messages and restrict people from their Island. The Shoremingle team can remove content, restrict or suspend accounts, and take Islands down when the Community Guidelines or these terms are broken. [To confirm: notice and appeal commitments; an appeals process is not yet available]
Ending
You can stop using Shoremingle and delete your account whenever you like. [To confirm: when Shoremingle may close an account permanently, and what notice is given]
Legal
[To confirm: disclaimers, limits of liability, governing law, how disputes are resolved, how members are told about changes to these terms, and contact details]
